Celebrant Maria is based in Sheffield and officiates weddings throughout Christchurch, Selwyn and Waimakariri.
Exciting times ahead – you’re getting married! Maria’s a registered CANZ celebrant in Canterbury and is super friendly, relaxed and fun. She adores creating special memories for her couples. Maria understands everyone’s journey is different, and absolutely loves to celebrate love in all its forms. She’d love to chat, and together create the ceremony of your dreams.
Tell us about yourself? I am a wife, a mother and step-mother, a grandmother and step-grandmother. I am also mum to two fur-baby dogs and one fur-baby cat. I am a programme planning librarian in my day job, and I have spent many years planning and delivering events and activities for all ages, on topics that are educational, inspirational, creative, and/or just downright fun!
Tell us about your style? Definitely relaxed and informal, I am super flexible when it comes to a couple’s wishes, and I will do my very best to make their dream a reality. I am happy to cater to any ideas you may have. I am laid back but also super organised, and the most important thing for me is that you are happy and your wishes come true!
Best part of any ceremony for you? All of it! Every ceremony is unique and special, and creating moments of joy and special memories for you fills me to overflowing.
Favourite things? I love to read, to walk with the dogs and my hubby, explore our beautiful country (sooo beautiful!), and hang with my family. One day I would love to do more overseas travel, if that becomes a thing again!
