My name is Bonnie and I have been a celebrant for the last two and a half years. Couples have described me as a calm, patient and reassuring celebrant, who likes to have a laugh. I love to travel and many of my fondest memories of ceremonies have been those that involve roadies across the country.
I am passionate about my Māori culture and enjoy incorporating te reo Maori and tikanga into ceremonies.
When I am not officiating weddings, I run my own business called Magnolia Supporting You. I have a private practice where I provide counselling, social work support, business mentoring and professional supervision. Helping others is a big passion of mine and it is important to be me that I am doing mahi that makes a difference.
I am a very social and outgoing person and in my spare time I love to spend time with my family, friends and my animals (I have a cat, pet turtles and a rottweiler). I am a big fan of rugby and can be found cheering my favourite team on in the weekends. I also love music and am a singer in a country band.
Tell us about your style? My style is very much centred around my client and what they are wanting for their ceremony. Naturally I am a relaxed, calm and easy going kind of person so my approach reflects this. I am a romantic at heart so I do enjoy hearing about peoples love stories.
Best part of any ceremony for you? The best part of the ceremony for me is listening to the couple’s vows. I think this is such an important part of any ceremony and really tells the story of who they are as a couple and what their marriage will look like.
Favourite things? For me it would be spending time with my family and friends, I enjoy spending time with people, especially my loved ones. For fun I enjoy listening to music, socialising, watching the rugby or a really good movie or show. Education has always been a big part of my life so I am often learning about something new or working on my business.
