Anna Flanagan is a Christchurch based celebrant who officiates weddings throughout Canterbury – south, mid, north and beyond! She’s happy to travel anywhere in Aotearoa for ceremonies!
Anna is flexible, fun, and easy-going and she would love to help you celebrate your special day, as your Celebrant. Anna is all about bringing the joy and sharing your story, and she works closely with you to do so. Anna is also a validated member of the Celebrants Association of New Zealand, VCANZ, which means she also officiates registry weddings. Ultimately, her goal is to deliver a perfect wedding ceremony that is tailored to reflect you, creating unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.
Tell us about yourself? I’m a mum, a wife, a fur-mum and a celebrant! I’ll usually be meeting with couples, and officiating or MC’ing weddings. But when I’m not, you’ll likely find me playing with our dogs, visiting venues or the beach and definitely trying out new foodie spots with my family! I also love to travel – especially to Hanmer Springs, Dunedin, and Kaikoura.
Tell us about your style? For me it’s all about making sure that you feel comfy on your wedding day, and that I’ve got your back. My style is guiding you through what’s required, finding out what feels right for you and then weaving a ceremony that tells your story around all of that!
Best part of any ceremony for you? Hands down, my favourite part of a ceremony is when you see one another as you’re coming up the aisle! I love seeing the emotion on your faces.
Favourite things? Dogs, travel and food! We have two dogs, and we foster for the SPCA. I love experiencing other cultures and authentic travel experiences. We’ve been to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Aussie (lots) and Samoa; next up is a Bali getaway. I’m also a massive foodie – particularly partial to dumplings, bun cha and pho!
