Tell us about yourself? As a celebrant, I find immense joy in connecting with beautiful couples and guiding them through their journey to marriage. I believe a marriage contract creates a protective shell around your relationship, offering a sense of security and strength during challenging times. The process begins with us sitting down early to discuss your ceremony, ensuring you understand how the day will unfold. My role is to handle the legal aspects, a small but vital part of the celebration, while your role is to express your love and commitment. By investing time early on, you’ll ease the pressure and be able to fully enjoy the magical atmosphere with your friends and family. My goal is to create a beautiful, meaningful, and memorable ceremony that reflects who you are as a couple.
Tell us about your style? My passion for people is my strength, and connecting with beautiful couples brings me immense joy. Your big day should reflect who you are, whether it’s traditional, unique, a civil union, or a vow renewal. I’ll handle the legalities and support you, ensuring your moment is memorable and cherished. This day marks the beginning of your life journey together.
Best part of any ceremony for you? The best part of the ceremony for me is the Exchange of Vows. When this moment arrives, it’s truly magical- prepare for overwhelming happiness and cherish that feeling for a lifetime. This part of the ceremony, along with the entire service, is so powerful because it’s uniquely yours. You’ve created it, you own it, and it marks the beautiful beginning of your life journey together.
Favourite things?
I absolutely adore getting outdoors as much as possible, especially enjoying the beauty of the changing seasons. My three adorable dogs keep me busy and bring endless joy to my life. I also love keeping fit, cooking, and indulging in good food.
Spending time with friends is very important to me, and I cherish every moment I get to spend with them. Although I’m from Bonny Scotland and far away from my close-knit family, Facetime and WhatsApp keep us connected.
My career has always involved working with people, from people management at the amazing Auckland Zoo to many years in the fitness industry where I built trust, encouraged vulnerability, and supported people in achieving their goals. I loved every moment of it. Being a celebrant is a perfect fit for me because it allows me to build relationships, agree on outcomes, and of course, make new friends along the way. I’m quite easy-going and, being from Glasgow, I can’t help but be a people person—it’s in my blood!
